In keeping with our tradition of pivoting to meet new challenges, we have expanded our manufacturing services to offer personal protective equipment (PPE) for use during the COVID-19 crisis.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly realized that we had the skills, materials, and equipment necessary to help ease the PPE shortage. To help address the problems faced by our local healthcare workers, we shifted our manufacturing focus to disposable hospital isolation gowns and vinyl partitions. To enhance our PPE manufacturing capabilities, we acquired School Safety Solution, a company that specializes in the fabrication of safety equipment for schools and other public facilities. Not only do we provide PPE for hospitals, we are also able to offer a variety of PPE for retail establishments, schools, and other public facilities.

PPE Masks

PPE masks are one of the most important COVID-19 preventative products. At Carolina CoverTech, we offer a variety of highly effective and easy-to-use masks that limit the spread of COVID-19 from potential carriers by blocking small water droplets that are expelled through breathing, talking, coughing, and sneezing. They also prevent droplets that are already in the air from being inhaled. We offer two PPE mask designs that can be used in both personal and professional settings.

Disposable Paper Masks

We are pleased to provide quality disposable paper masks that are made of breathable, non-woven fabric with a triple-layer meltblown filter cloth specially designed to catch airborne particles and water droplets. Designed for convenience, these masks are easy to put on and take off, and can simply be thrown out after use.

KN95 Masks

KN95 masks offer a reusable option that can be sanitized or cleaned as needed. They feature multi-layered, easy-to-breathe hypoallergenic materials that filter out 95% of particulate matter, in accordance with strict Chinese and international standards. Strong elastic ear loops help the mask fit comfortably against your face without the need for frequent fit adjustments.

The paper and KN95 face masks offer numerous benefits, especially for individuals on the front lines in the current COVID-19 crisis. They are breathable, but provide filtration to reduce the potential spread of the virus via airborne droplets. Masks are the first line of defense against COVID-19, as they reduce the number of contaminated droplets that can be inhaled or exhaled into the air.

Face Shields

Face shields offer an added level of protection for mask-wearing individuals. As the name implies, face shields protect the face, particularly the mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, and lips, from airborne droplets. They are an excellent alternative to goggles, as they particularly protect the eyes; however, they should not be considered an alternative to masks, and should be used with a mask or respirator in order to ensure optimal protection of the nose and mouth.

The face shields we stock feature a clear, non-fogging, curved sheet of washable plastic material with an adjustable elastic headband. The inner face of the shield has a forehead sponge buffer for enhanced fit and comfort.

Goggles

In addition to face shields and masks, we offer goggles that serve as a protective alternative for your eyes. Carolina CoverTech’s anti-fogging, splash-proof, and anti-shock goggles are an excellent option, even for those with corrective glasses. Available in a variety of sizes, our goggles fit closely around the user’s face and glasses to provide optimal protection from particulate matter and airborne droplets while facilitating clear vision. The plastic or polycarbonate material used for our goggles can be cleaned or sanitized for reuse, and the adjustable elastic strap ensures that your goggles fit securely around your eyes.

Isolation Gowns

Isolation gowns are particularly important for front line workers in healthcare facilities who are in frequent contact with potential carriers of the COVID-19 virus. Direct or prolonged exposure to individuals infected with COVID-19 can contaminate the clothing of medical workers, particularly if they are around patients who are coughing and sneezing. For users in high-traffic healthcare environments, isolation gowns can provide workers with an added layer of protection when used in conjunction with gloves, masks, goggles, and other PPE. It is important to follow medical industry regulations for putting on and removing isolation gowns in order to reduce the potential for virus transmission.

Our isolation gowns are adjustable and one size fits all, which helps hospitals and medical facilities simplify ordering processes and eliminate size shortages. We use an industry-compliant impermeable 1.5 Mil polyethylene material that is highly durable and meets ANSI and AAMI PB70 Minimal Barrier Requirements. An easy-access thumbhole helps users to quickly and safely put on and remove gowns.

Nitrile Gloves

Nitrile gloves provide an added layer of protection for individuals who are in frequent contact with potentially infectious individuals, objects, or surfaces. Not only do they help users avoid directly touching contaminated surfaces, they also ensure a full layer of protection when used with masks, goggles, isolation gowns, and other forms of PPE.

Carolina CoverTech’s quality nitrile gloves are composed of 4 Mil thick synthetic rubber and fabric that is both puncture and chemical resistant, providing a non-sterile barrier between the user and potential infection. They are also powder-free, which makes them ideal for use in medical and food processing applications.

PPE Partitions

For medical facilities, retail businesses, banks, and other critical businesses that experience high traffic, PPE partitions made of vinyl, acrylic, or other plastic-based materials can be an important life-saving measure. Partitions provide an additional barrier between individuals, while allowing them to see and hear each other. Partitions reduce reliance on face masks by intercepting respiratory droplets while enforcing social distancing, thereby protecting employees and customers alike.
