Job Opening: Process Improvement Engineer

Summary: We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Process Improvement Engineer with
a strong background in manufacturing and with proven problem-solving and analytical
skills, willing to lead the company’s Continuous Improvement Program. Experience with
technologies such as sewing and RF heat sealing and tools such as Value Stream
Mapping, Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing are preferred.

Specific Job Duties:

1. Process Improvement:

  • Analyze current manufacturing processes and review KPI trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize process efficiencies and material flow, and reduce waste.
  • Update, develop and document Standard Work for new and existing processes to enhance product quality and OEE.
  • Set up and maintain a robust archive system for production-related documents using a Document Control system.
  • Identify and log opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs to improve profitability.
  • Lead the company’s CI Program as coach and implementor2.

2. New Projects:

  • Support the production of prototypes for new projects and assist with pre-production planning activities prior to launch of production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the production process.

3. Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with, and form, cross-functional teams, to drive operational improvements.
  • Develop a reporting system to track improvements and to support EOS KPI’s.
  • Deploy strong organizing & planning skills to maximize cross-functional effectivenes.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with sewing and RF heat sealing technologies, a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work in a shop environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
  • Comfortable using various tools and machinery.
